If you live in the United States, or are a US citizen abroad, then you know that in less than a week we will be voting for a new President, amongst other offices.
The Paladin wants to take this opportunity to remind us all just how important it is to get out and cast your vote.
In addition, do so in wisdom!
These are difficult and dark times for our country, and we need solid leadership in the coming days. I think many would agree that sound leadership has been lacking over the last few years.
But do not be deceived! Do not listen to the media blitz too closely (the media has the responsibility to report the news, but they have their own agendas as well). Do your own research. Study the candidates, their records, their lives, and use your best judgment and then vote for the candidate YOU think is best to lead.
Many at this time are trying to sway your opinion and your vote. Some care not for the future of the country, but care only for their own future in politics or in their own political agenda.
Renounce ones such as these, and use your God-given wisdom and intelligence to vote for the persons that YOU feel, after careful consideration (and if you are religious, after prayerful consideration) are best equipped to lead this nation ahead.
But most of all, GET OUT AND CAST YOUR VOTE!
And cast it wisely!
May God bless America, and all nations and peoples.
An off-topic post to be sure, but one that the Paladin just cannot resist!
If you have been following the tech news as of late then you are aware that today was a successful test of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In case that means nothing to you, the LHC is a huge collider built in Europe by many countries at an unfathomable cost in order to study particle physics at a level previously impossible.
The news has been quick to report the cost of this collider in billions of dollars, but scientists contend that they should be able to answer questions about the makeup of our world, possibly even about the “big bang” creation of all that we know, with the data they hope to obtain from this device.
Not to be thought of as only “geeks,” some enterprising scientists (with obviously way too much time on their hands) have produced a rap video commemorating this historic event. We present it here for your entertainment:
The Paladin has so wanted to tell you about the book he just finished reading that he had to create a new category just to place it on the site.
The book is called: “The Richest Man in Babylon”, and it is a fantastic guide to personal finances. Even if you are doing just fine with your personal finances the book is an excellent read.
The author, George S. Clason, presents his ideas in a rather interesting way: By telling stories set in the time of ancient Babylon, one of the most financially well-off cities ever to exist. The stories are fun to read, the principles are sound, and at only 166 pages you can get through it rather quickly.
So if you have a few moments, get a copy and read through it. You will be the wiser for it.
