Web Browser
Microsoft’s Internet Explorer might be the dominant web browser in the world (especially on Windows…especially since it ONLY runs on Windows), but it certainly is not the ONLY web browser in the world…and certainly can not claim to be the BEST browser in the world without argument.
In fact, a lot of Internet Explorer’s dominance in the market can be traced in large part to the fact that it comes “already installed” on any Windows operating system (and in most cases, there is no way to uninstall it if you do not wish to use it!).
However there are other worthy browsers out there in the world…and all the ones we are going to mention here are free (as in, you can simply download and install them and begin using them legally!)
Keep in mind that downloading any of the web browsers mentioned here does nothing to disrupt your use of Internet Explorer. You can download them, install them, and if you do not like them you can do one thing that Internet Explorer cannot do…uninstall them!
Firefox
One particularly good web browser (and the one that the Paladin uses) is called Firefox. Firefox is maintained by the Mozilla Foundation and, like many other popular alternative browsers runs on many different operating systems. If all you will ever use is Windows, then this last point will not matter much to you. However, if you like to use different operating systems, there is most likely a version of Firefox available for your system.
Safari
Another good alternative web browser is called Safari.
Safari was developed by Apple Computer and is included in the latest version of Apple’s Mac OS X operating system. Safari is also the default browser on Apple’s iPhone. In addition, Apple released a version of Safari that runs on Windows operating systems, including the latest Windows Vista.
Safari has been gaining in popularity as of late and would make an excellent alternative web browser for any system.
