If you are only backing up some data files (spreadsheets, word processing documents, etc.) and they will fit in a couple of gigabytes of storage space, then a USB Flash Drive is a great way to go. Many are small enough to hang on your key chain, and all you have to do is plug them into a USB port on a computer and you are ready to copy or retrieve files.

The price of a USB Flash Drive is constantly dropping and the storage space on each one is constantly increasing. Again, a great solution if you do not have oodles of data to back up (if you are making a complete “snapshot” image of your hard drive…then these are probably not going to work for you).
