That Christmas Digital Frame Could Infect Your Computer

A rather interesting article (click here to view the original article) was read by the Paladin tonight regarding the detection of malware infecting those electronic picture frames that are currently all the rage.
Have you not seen those picture frames? They come in as small a size as a keychain and as large a size as…well…the Paladin has not gone looking for the largest size yet.
These are really nifty type devices that allow you to hook them up to your computer and download pictures to the frame. Then you place the frame wherever you wish and it can rotate and/or display a bunch of pictures.
The Paladin has not acquired such a device because he feels that the cost of such items is still way to high, given the technology that it is based upon.
Nevertheless, many consumers this Christmas picked up a digital picture frame in one form or another.
The problem is that our old friends, the “Anti-Programmers” have been at their dastardly work yet again. It seems that they have managed to find a way to hide “malware” on these picture frames so that when you try to download your pictures to the frame your computer becomes infected with the malware.
Alas, this brings up a very important point. ANY device that you connect to your computer that has any type of storage capacity that can be accessed by your computer can potentially hold viruses, trojan horses, malware, and many other creations of the anti-programmers.
Thus, in your quest for freedom for your computer, be sure to have your antivirus program up to date, as well as being extra careful about what devices you connect to your PC.
Remember: The Anti-Programmers are watching!
